Why oh why?

OK, I HAD windows2000 on my box...

I tried to install Linux on it too. Somebody told me that this was the best way to do (start of with windows installed and then add Linux to it - RH 7.1).

So, everything runs perfectly within Linux...
I reboot... LiLo indeed loads, but only displays Linux...
I boot up Linux and everything runs perfectly...
my configuration:
/dev/hda1=/boot
/dev/hda2=windows2000 (NTFS)
/dev/hda3=/windows2000 (NTFS)
/dev/hdb1=/
/dev/hdb2=Linux Swap
/dev/hdb3=/home

I add the following code to lilo.conf
Code:

other=/dev/hda2
  label=win2000

indeed LiLo shows me windows2000 as an option. but when I try to run windows2000 from within LiLo, it says that it cannot access ntldr (NT-Loader)

OK, I re-installed windows, and now windows runs perfectly but I don't et to see LiLo... (i access my RH with a bootDisk I created during the installation)

Can anyone help me to get rid of the bootDisk and still be able to access both windows2000 and RedHat Linux 7.1?

What do I have to do to make LiLo my boot-manager plus how can I make sure that windows keeps running in the way it does now.

Just mentioning: I am prepared to re-install Linux, but not windows (too much mess, too much software to re-install :rolleyes: )

Thanks...

You want to get the Win2K loaded to look at a file that contains a boot sector image, that inturn holds LILO... simple eh? Actually, its is pretty straight forward. Have a look at http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...4605#post14605
