why is UT 2003 trying to mount my floppy drive?

im installing it right now (literally as i type) and its trying to mount my floppy drive, what with that?

is it installing right?

It just does ... apparently if you put a floppy in the drive it will stop doing it. Another way would be to comment out the floppy drive for the duration of the install in the /etc/fstab (again, this is what i'm told)

just let it deal with it ... sure it slows things down ... but such is life

The "comment out" part works wonders. I comment out all floppies (the 5 1/4 and the 3 1/2) and the cdrom and mount manually when it wants a disk. Now, if I only owned my own cdkey :-)

i already had my key nicked, and should i ever attempt to play online and find i can't i'm going to go for a drive and break the little bastards fingers ...

never the less, nice to know that the comment thing works

how do i do that?

Just put a # as the first character of each pertinent line. Delete it when done, if you want to restore the previous behaviour.

I may actually buy a copy, any company that is putting out games that well designed for Linux deserves the business. If you need to change your key by the way, it is in clear text in ut2003/System/cdkey. vi does the trick.

ok thanks i'll keep that in mind :)
