Unhappy why does /etc/motd print twice at login SuSE9.0 ??

Hi,

When my users login to my machine, etc/motd is printed twice.

For example:

/etc> ssh myuser@machine
Last login: Mon Oct 18 10:48:04 2004 from machine.abc.gov
************************************************************************
NOTICE TO USERS
blah blah ....
************************************************************************

Directory: /home/myuser
************************************************************************
NOTICE TO USERS

blah blah ....
************************************************************************

Directory: /home/myuser
Mon Oct 18 10:48:25 EDT 2004
machine /home/myuser>

Where the "**** NOTICE TO USERS" asci block is the contents of /etc/motd.

I wish this would only print once. Where should I look to troubleshoot this problem?

Thanks much as always.

BTW: This only happens when a user logs in remotedly. When a user logs into the console, /etc/motd only prints once.

Thanks.
