White screen problem with Compiz - Using Debian testing with an intel 945GM card

This is my first time posting a linux issue into a forums. In general I was able to sort thing myself out or find enough info on the net but I got stuck with this one.

I am unable to get compiz to work on my Dell E1405 laptop.

I am using a Debian testing distribution. I have started with a brand new xorg.conf generated by the command:

# dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg

It's almost an empty xorg.conf as mostly everything is loaded/detected when X starts. I will post the log and conf on following posts but I assure you that everything in the log or conf seems fine. I do have direct rendering working:

$ glxinfo | grep direct
DISPATCH ERROR! _glapi_add_dispatch failed to add glAreTexturesResident!
DISPATCH ERROR! _glapi_add_dispatch failed to add glGenTextures!
DISPATCH ERROR! _glapi_add_dispatch failed to add glIsTexture!
libGL warning: 3D driver claims to not support visual 0x67
direct rendering: Yes

But when I run compiz I get to the white screen problem. Alt tab works and the desktop rotates but I cannot see anything. Everything is blank.

I will really appreciate any help you can provide me to get this working.

$ uname -a
Linux mescamovil 2.6.29 #1 SMP Fri Mar 27 17:40:08 ART 2009 i686 GNU/Linux

Using debian testing and upgraded almost every day.

Please feel free to request for any other information.

Thanks,
a.=

I'm also having the exact same problem. I have a blacklisted video card (PCI ID 8086:2a02, Intel 965), but compiz has worked fine except for fullscreen video until I ran an update last week. I'm running Debian sid on a Thinkpad T61.

Some info:

Code:

uname -a:

Linux mjollnir 2.6.26-1-686 #1 SMP Sat Jan 10 18:29:31 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux

Any thoughts?

Kyle
