Which one best or recommended for RHEL 4? apt-get or yum?

Hi Guys,

Just want to ask, which one is recommended to use on RedHat Ent 4 besides up2date, yum or apt-get? And where can i find basic tutorial
on using this in RedHat Enterprise?

I would go for yum, because it is designed for Redhat.

apt-get is good as well.

I would use yum, both are good package managers, but on any redhat or fedora system I would use yum. Docs here RedHat Documentation/ there are enough docs there on anything redhat

Thanks guys, It seems Yum will be a good choice.

I see you already resolved to use Yum. My call is the same.

Yum is designed and widely used by RH and Fedora. Yum repos are more common than APT repos for RHEL. And up2date is being practically replaced gradually by Yum (Eg: RHEL 5).
