wheres my taskbar/desktop switcher?

Yea, i had some problems with red hat the other day, when i logged on it was moving REALLLY slow, and then it said there was an error with a file and it should be deleted, so maybe im stupid but i did. I do not remimber the name of the file, but now when red hat loads, i have no desktop switcher, and when i minimize my programs they just dissapear, (they are still running i just lose them becuase they dont minimize to my task bar any more, its jsut blank).
Its kind of annoying, can anyone help?

I'm not sure about RH9, but in KDE, you can press ALT+F2 to display the run dialog and type in kicker.

Ok umm that did nothing.... i think i need to clarify...

the actual bar itself is there... i see the time and my start menu and whatnot, but theres no desktop switcher, and when i minimize any programs it doesnt show up on the task bar so i cant open them anymore.

OK, try this (for KDE)
  • Right-click on a blank space on the taskbar
  • In the pop-up menu, select Panel
  • Then select add
  • Then applet
  • Then choose Pager
That should bring up your Desktop switcher.

Do the same for Taskbar, if it's not selected.

ehdwuld ... I had a look at that, looks pretty good

Ogledbyoldmen ... You also need to add the
Dock Application Bar found under the Panel | Add | Extension menu.
