where to get realone player?

as above, i only seem to be able to get the real-player8. am running redhat 8, and what i get from the real site is a form that asks me what OS i'm using. Linux 2.0 chooses real-player8, and choosing linux/aplha redhat 6.2 chooses a binary file that i can download but not install for some reason (it says bin file cannot be executed).

also, how do i make real files play with mplayer? i tried copying the codecs into /usr/local/lib/codecs, have installed the rpm file for realvideo9 codecs, but mplayer still refuses to play - either it just shows me the rm file with zero length (if i open it directly from a browser) or says failed to open rm file when i open it directly from mplayer.

the problem is rp8 (even with realvideo 9 codecs installed and copied) does not play my streaming video properly - tons of breaks, i can hardly see the video frames. any workaround?

any help much appreaciated, thanks!

well I remember wondering this a few months back - so I did another search -

the only thing I can find is:
http://www.real.com/welcome/welcome....&rpv2=0&rpv3=0

If this gives you problems try mplayerhq.hu or Both if you wish. [I recommend trying both as the hits from downloading on their site will encourage them to continue to create for Unix/Linux.

Currently I have Realplayer for mozilla plugin and mplayer for movies.

just because alpha is a different architecture... so I think you won't be able to use it
