Where should I install grub?

I have two harddrives in my computer, hda and hdb. Gentoo is installed on hdb.
Should I put grub in the mbr on hda to make it run before windows xp starts?

I don't know. Does grub overwrite xp's bootloader - buggering xp?

Should know this but can the BIOS setup be arranged to make hdb the boot device? In which case put grub on that and there is no problem.
