Where is my Kernel???

Hello, I'm runnign SuSE 8.0. I want to attemp for the first time a kernel configuration. Where I guess I would need to re-compile my kernel. Before I do that, I want to see what my configuration is. I do not have a dir. /usr.src/linux, I looked in my /boot dir., I consulted the online help, I went to the SuSE website. I don't know where my kernel source is? KDE has a kernel config tool, but it cannot find my kernel config file. I went to KPackage to look for an RPM for my kernel source, or anything that has to do with my kernel adn it doen't find anything either. Can someone tell me where I can fing my kernel please.

Thanks,

Erik

you need to install the kernel-source rpm from your CD/DVD first (or get it from a mirror)

or you can go to kernel.org, download the kernel as tar.gz and untar it in /usr/src/linux-2.4.22 and make a symlink form a folder named linux to that directory
