Where is locate's database?

I've not been able, yet, to... locate, in the filesystem, the huge locate's database (the one created by updatedb).
Where does it get saved?
Anyone can help?

It depends on what distribution you are using. On Redhat based distros the database is in /var/lib/mlocate/mlocate.db because Redhat uses mlocate. Some distros use slocate so the database will be somewhere in /var/lib/slocate/slocate.db.
