I am sort of a linux newbie... i can get rpm programs installed... i goto the terminal ... login as root using su ... and then i type rpm -i gTweakUI-0.4.0-1.fc2.i386.rpm .. and it says the package was installed.. but i dont know how to run it.. where it installs to...

so i was just wondering how you find out how to run it.. (there was no install file).. i read all the doc's that came with it and it didnt say anything.. so i was wondering where the programs install to.. if rpm's and tar.gz's install to diff directories or how you know where they go. thanks

Usually binary executables are install in /usr/bin or /usr/local/bin by those package managment programs. I suppose it could also be in /bin or /opt/bin.

I went to /usr/bin and i saw 4 files

gtweakui-galeon
gtweakui-menus
gtweakui-natilus
gtweakui-session

when i try to open galeon and menus i get this error..
The Application "gtweakui-galeon" has quit unexpectedly.

You can inform the developers of what happened to help them fix it. Or you can restart the application right now.

and when i try to open up natilus and sesions.. nothing opens up..

so confused
