Where can i get ported games?

I have many games including "return to castle wolfenstein, quake 3, starcraft, and UT" and i've heard they have been ported. how can i get my windows version games to work on linux, is there a patch, is that what ported means. can i download a patch that will install the games on a linux system "redhat 7.3" or do i have to download the entire ported version and where can i go to do this. do i have to re-buy the games in linux form, which shops sell linux games, i cant buy online , no credit card. anyway if i were able to play my favorite games on linux i would be even less dependent on windows.
