where Can I found free drivers for conexant 56K?

Hi,
I've seen on linmodems.org, but there is only a link to linuxant.com.
Now, on linuxant.com there are two type of drivers:

1) limited to 14.4K (free)
2) full 56K (for a modest price)

So I've downloaded and installed the first.
But I connect to the internet at 14.4K.

where can I download the full 56K driver for free?

Thank.

Unhappy I feel your pain, bro

I have the same problem, sadly. This might help: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...nexant+drivers
Hopefully those will work with the distro you have. I use slackware and converted them with rpm2tgz and they don't seem to work. Hopefully some saint will post the source ones.

quote linuxant.com:
"For Conexant modem drivers, a license token is needed to generate a license key to activate the full version for each device on an single machine."

So it would be illegal to use that driver "for free" and illegal stuff don't belong on these boards.

Not illegal

They're not illegal. Linuxant.com released these drivers as freeware and in the liscense agreement expressly stated that the versions released before you had to pay were able to be freely distributed as long as they were unaltered. The drivers being asked for are those, and it is perfectly legal to use and distribute them.

http://www24.brinkster.com/linuxmodem/
That is a website i've thrown together in less than 30 secs....

The driver you need is the first one. I've been using it for the last 5/6 months and it works great. Enjoy!

If the beta driver work for you, congratulation! The beta driver didn't work on my friend's PC.

So we bought the driver (they accept paypal). $15 is ok, cheaper than serial modem and no headache. Next time I would perfer a luxent tho.
