Whenever i record i ardour the sound is all jittery.

I managed to do my first bit of recording in ardour today, but the sound was awful. it was all jittery and jumpy. when i just play a click track i can hear that it isn't regular. how can i make it more reliable. thanks.

First guess: Is JACK running in realtime?

If it is, I'll need to know more about your setup. Specifically: CPU, RAM, and sound card.
