The only people who can answer a question like "When..." are those who are developing it. I'm unaware of a specific "jail()" function being developed, but it's quite possible that chroot can do what you're looking for. What exactly do you need done?

I don't know Zones or Jails, but I guess they're very close to Linux' "chrooted" environments, aren't they?

If so, it does exist! My Postfix is chrooted all the time. Its root is /var/spool/postfix, under which there is dev, lib, etc...

As for ms-access odbc driver, I thought it already existed, but I checked and it seems you're right. This might help you:

Good luck

Chroot should be able to do that for you.

Chroot is actually far to provide everything a Solaris Zone can. The closest project is Linux-VServer. http://linux-vserver.org/Welcome_to_Linux-VServer.org
