Question When I run 'gksudo gedit' an 'Untitled Document 1' opens as well.

Hi guys.

When I run 'gksudo gedit' an 'Untitled Document 1' opens [image attached].

Example:
Code:
gksudo gedit /etc/crontab & exit
The same does not happen with Leafpad.

Is this a bug? Has anyone a solution?

It happens to me as well, as least on Debian. I always took it as a feature, kind of like emacs' scratch buffer (without ability to evaluate lisp, ofc).

This is the last file opened by root ( or user ). Medit also has that feature.

just delete the "untitaled" doc and the "untitaled1" if they are there

but just opining Gedit WILL automatically create a empty doc that you can then write in

if you do not want a new empty doc
then add the file you want to open

Code:
gksudo gedit /etc/crontab

As stated in my first post - I already run that command.
