Hi,

X Window System is the Graphical system (XFree or Xorg in most cases) and every distribution(or 90% of them, comes with one).

No, X Window System is network-based graphical infrastructure used in GNU/Linux. Here is a definition from the X Window HOW-TO:

---
The X Window System is an advanced, graphical computing and network environment that was designed from the ground up as a multi-user system. X was first released in 1984.
---

If `ureal 2004' is Unreal Tournament 2004 then it has a native Linux version and is not running with a program like wine. And, please, be careful about the name of X Window System; it's not X _Windows_ System.

the gui is the window manager, kde,gnome,blackbox,etc.. the xwindow system lives between the gui and the hardware.

May be we could say like that but infact it's the `window manager' (which uses X Window to create GUI) that you see. I think this definition is more better. When you switch between window makers, colors change, styles change,.. etc. but all of them uses X Window to display these.
