whats a mozilla crash look like

heys guys, linux has frozen on my 4 times in 3 days !!!
very unusual,

but always while ive been using mozilla firebird 0.6.1 (vurrently downloading version 0.7)

but then, im usually using linux for web-browsing.

i have a feeling that firebird is responcible, but, the crashes are complete system freezes, no mouse responce, no keyboard responce.

can a browser application cause such a crash ????
i thought a browser crash couldnt bring down the whole OS
when it crashed... or can it ???

it apears the browser is to blame as the crash usually hapens just after i click a button, refresh or stop. or a hyperlink.

any help / opinions / input apreciated.

ThanX

I'm not sure it can bring down linux, but it could bring down X, and that can be as bad. When you say you have no keyboard response, I assume you have tried Ctrl+Alt+FX? If not, try this and you might to able to switch to a console. Then ps -e will list all of the processes and you should be able to kill firebird from there. You could try running it from a console as:
mozilla > /tmp/mozilla.log &
Then when it crashes, you should (hopefully) have the output in the log file.
Hope that helps
Guy
