What software can be used to copy video to dvd

Hi

Currently im running slackware 11.
I have installed a winfast video card.

00:0b.0 Multimedia video controller: Conexant CX23880/1/2/3 PCI Video and Audio Decoder (rev 05)

With this I can view tv and videos etc.. I am looking to play a video and record this video to a dvd, how will I go about doing this.

What software can I use for this work, can I stream this data using motion to a file ?

Thanx any help will be of use

I know DVD author (dvdauthor) allows authoring of video DVDs. There's a qt-based frontend called qdvdauthor as well.

Thanx got those programs and will be looking into them, although this is still not the main task. Im looking to capture the input from the s-video of the tv card to a file and dont really know how to go about this,What will the file be avi etc, will the sound be a separate file? I have downloaded kino and that takes the input from firewire which is no help to me, cinnelera never seems to work for me either.
mm im actually not really sure where to start.

Thanx
