Try SuSE Openexchange, it is basically a exchange server clone, use ximian connector to connect to it.

I use Minitab a lot. It's a statistics program that I find very useful for analysing results in my field.
Apart from that, Macromedia Dreamweaver would be a good addition.

Oh, and M$ Office for Linux would be nice!

EarthLink software has always been intended for new users, and your typical newbie probably didnt go out an buy a new Linux box as his or her first computer.

I know EarthLink isnt against Linux, because shortly before I left there, they were working on a support deal for one of the new Linux setups. (Lindows PCs, I believe it was). In order to make ISP software for Linux, you would need a separate easy-to-use program for evey distro that you want to support as they are all configured differently. Software that does anything to configure or setup the Linux PC is not likely because of all that will be needed to work with different distros.
...so the only customers Earthlink wants is the newbies? That makes me wonder about their QOP. If they only want newbies, then the connection must suck. What's to say that some Linux guru who hates Windows doesn't want an Earthlink account! Who says it has to be all fuzzy and super easy to use? The main thing we care about right off the bat is that it works correctly. They can work on the interphase later.

Don't make me come whoop you. I think I'll stick with OpenOffice. It's fully compatible.

I would be very happy if Photoshop and\or the game StarCraft had been ported.

I think an Architectural program like Revit would be amazing, not 2D stuff, but full paramatric 3D! and I wouldn't mine paying for it... :-)
there is a need for commercial programs like that, I guess one can use Vmware but we need something for LINUX!

OriginPro 7.5 or something like it. OOo's Calc isn't good enough for complex graphs and publication quality figures.

Maybe at this point but the great thing about Linux apps is if you wait a while the thing you need is provided and for free I might add. As fast as OOffice is getting updated it won't be long before it pass MS Office for functionality and usability.

Thumbs up Nero

Nero Burning software. I'm not putting down K3B and the likes but Nero is by far the greatest cd burning software out there. It automatically normalizes the volume of tracks, allows you to edit MP3s, and has lots of fun little filters like fade-in/out. I keep a Windows machine just for cd burning.

If Nero were to port their software to Linux, they'd need to add Ogg support.
