I would like to see Quicktime for Linux. I know it's proprietary but the Mplayer plugin doesn't work on all Quicktime embedded media. It does work on most embeds I've seen though. Also Safari would be good to see In Linux. The web design work I do requires building the site for many browsers unfortunately.

The correct approach is to support vendors that support Linux, even if building some other type of computer besides a Linux box. For example: I always recommend Nvidia graphics cards due to their excellent Linux support. I usually recommend Wireless Ethernet Bridges when people ask me about going wireless as well.
There is nothing wrong with recommending Linux compatible equipment, even if building some "other" type of closed source unreliable operating system.

PostgreSQL and MySQL are both available (free) for Windows too.

I think he's refering to a specific VMWare tool - which is suprising because most of VMWare tools that i've seen have been available for Linux too

Wine can already run Photoshop CS2, though I've never tested it. (PS 7.0 does work, though, I tried).

Extra stuff at the bottom of the page

Re: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...te=1&p=3243293

Anybody know why I'm seeing all this at the bottom of the page?

Does everybody else see it too?

Does this mean a bug report should be made?

uTorrent - It runs under wine but I'd rather have a native linux version
Ventrilo - Same as uTorrent
Adobe Creative Suite CS3 - Nothing beats it

Have you tried any of the native linux torrent clinets? There's loads of them so i'd be very suprised if none of them at least match up to uTorrent (i never used it personally as i've always been more than happy with the linux counterparts)

I've been looking at rtorrent, I'll probably go with that.

first, spss has linux version. it's not open for sure, so go to pay for that.

You have much better choice, that's R project. R doesn't have an interactive interface, so it can be much smarter than SPSS and even Stata, a very smart and cheap application in windows. Free for students long time ago.
