you could always try texmaker, or even running winEdt in wine. From my experience latex has always been easier to manage in windows anyway, so WinEdt and miktek in wine should work great
Mathematica.Mathematica is extremely extremely useful in the study of many science in university level. Although there is Euler which do similar things in Linux. Its power, especially in algebraic operation, not numerical operation, is far beyond Mathematica. And besides, the precision Euler can hold is limited, when compared to Mathematica's infinite precision. I'll pay full price if it can be ported into Linux.

What do you mean? Mathematica is available for Linux!
Sorta, they were purchased by Adobe, and their stuff is now sold/offered by Adobe.
I would like to see Shockwave ported (it runs on wine, but porting would be nice). I would also love to see Windows Media Player 10 or 11 be ported (I could really use GOOD mtp support) though I know it will never happen (though WMP was ported to mac, then canceled and replaced with Quicktime codecs).
If TI-Graphlink and Hotsync were ported, that would be nice because then I wouldn't need to sync my TI-84 and Palm Tungsten E-2 on Windows (there are Linux alternatives to hotsync, but I like hotsync/palm desktop best). My Marvell Wireless card's drivers would be nice. The sync software for my LG Phone would be nice (though I would have pirated my windows copy if I could have found it on a torrent, because it's just wrong to charge someone for the sync software for a phone they already purchased). Seeing Civilization4 and Sim City 4 be ported would be nice (would pay full price for them). Native support for my Gateway's built in webcam would be nice. Winamp might be nice, but true, there are plenty of Linux apps that do the same thing. Photoshop and Dreamweaver would be good, but they are to dang expensive for me anyways.

You can use Gimp instead of PS and Quanta Plus, Kompozer/Nvu instead of Dreamweaver
