So is there a full version Maya version 7.0 I can download from the Alias website for Linux?

Yes, I do have Nvdia Geforce graphic card with OpenGL support. I'm in luck!

Hope to hear from you again smudge!

You won't be able to download a complete version of AW Maya without paying for it, unless you know where to get a copy. I suggest you start looking at the personal version here.

The full version is about 127Mb and the AW Common and AW common server files are 1.5mb - 0.5mb. What OS are you using? I believe Maya can be installed on most systems, from slackware to Gentoo. It was built for a red hat system but works just as well on debian.

^_^

Personal version?

Doesn't that have like a 30 day trial limit on it?

Or that daunting diagonal "alias maya" word stamped on the 3D workspace? When you render the scene you get that don't you, with the personal edition.

I'm using Fedora Core =D

Darn, Autodesk bought over Alias Maya too?

They bought over 3D Studio Max as well.

Try out lmms which is a lot like Fruity Loops and edit with sweep. Both easy to install and use.

Hello, this is my first experience with this site. I am a 2 yr nOOb, and my biggest complaint right now is LaunchCast radio. I have seen the suggestions posted here, but has anyone actually gotten it to work? I just installed SuSe 10.0.

I dan't know about LaunchCast. Looks Microsoftish. I use www.classicalwebcast.com with RealPlayer. Works like a charm if you like to listen to classical music that is.

I would love to see Solarwinds port Cirrus and Orion over to Linux.

Try Icecast net radio rather than yahoo's launchcast.

I would like to see a "simulated papertape" calculator.

When I have a list of numbers to add, I do not necessarily want to use a spread sheet to hold my list.

The paper tape idea would allow me to scroll my entries and to verify my list.

Don't know if this has been mentioned as yet, but I'm quite taken by the Tiger RSS Visualizer Screensaver - any way we can do that in linux? Possibly with improvements ;-)?

In XScreensaver there is BSOD.
