Exclamation What kernel source to install?

I'm running MDK9.1 my uname -r response is :

2.4.21-0.13mdk

I have three options in RPMDRAKE to install a kernel source, they are:

2.4.21-0.25
2.4.21-0.18
2.4.21-0.13

Which one do I pick? I mean, I intuitively thought of installing 0.13 because that's the one my uname -r says I'm running, but what happens if I install one of the others or is there a "wrong one" to install?

You will want 2.4.21-0.13; your intuition is correct.

Modules can quizz the kernel about its version and refuse to load if there is a mis-match between the module's expectations and the actual running kernel.

There really isn't a 'wrong' one, the .13 would be the one to install for your running kernel, so if you are compiling something against your running kernel, that's the one. Otherwise, take your pick, I'd do the latest 0.25 but you can choose your favorite if you are just installing the source to compile a new kernel or something.

Cool
