what is the best php editor

what is a good php editor for Linux? i have been using Quanta but since i use gnome it doesn't work too good (they integrate terrible), i have also tried gphpedit which seems to offer everything i want, but it just doesn't work right (as in i can't get it to do what they say it does)

i'm looking for an editor with syntax highlighting, preferably using GTK+/Gnome so i can use my themes, have some type of menu or something so i can jump to all the functions that i made, and give me a short blurb on a function when i type it (not that important, but i love it as php.net can be slow)

gphpedit says it does all of that but it just won't do it for me....it seems broke

anybody know of any program that does this? i need a php editor that i can really work with

Have you tried Bluefish?

Try Zend client IDE (written in Java), or Eclipse (find php plugin, also written in Java) or KDevelop (QT).
