what is the best p2p program out there for linux
what is the best p2p program out there for linux, that has many users or can connect to multi protocal of p2p servers like kazaa, emule, and etc?
i need a fast, stable and user friendly... |
i personally just prefer to use dcgui-qt, but i am sure many will suggest giFt .. check out sites such as sourceforge to get a huge list of projects, but giFt will be one of the most recommended by people ..
some will recommend limewire, which i hear is just silly, stupid and poinstless ;) |
well....the only question that makes me cautious is...
do p2p apps like limewire, Gift, mldonkey etc compromise security in general ?? Has there been any case where a linux machine has been hacked using any of the above apps ?? I just scanned my ports while running limewire and found that it opens only one port... What are your thoughts on this ?? Regards, amit |
