What is a good music file utility/player?

What is a good program for ripping music CDs to mp3?

Have been using Windows Media Player 9, but switching to Linux and I've got a lot of .wma files.

Is there a plugin for XMMS so it can play .wma format or will I have to re-rip everything?

I believe that MPlayer plays .wma files.

For ripping CDs, I like using Jack or KaudioCreator.

Jack is a CD ripper that you command via the command prompt (about the easiest CD ripper I've ever used myself) http://www.home.unix-ag.org/arne/jack/ You can read a short HowTo I wrote for it on my website, http://www.virtualsky.net/daves/olds.htm

Also, KaudioCreator is a pretty easy Ripper that you can use on your favorite desktop environment. http://www.csh.rit.edu/~benjamin/pro...=KAudioCreator

grip is by far the bestest ripper i#'ve used, gnome based and really really simple to use.
