First Red Hat dosent support my APM, then now mandrake can't even mount my god damn cdrom dirve (sorry but I'm upset) ! Is there a way to fix that on mandrake ? If I would know linux more I'd rebuild the red hat kernel without APM support but I don't have any idea how to do it, so I turned to mandrake, then this cdrom problem comes up. When I put a CD-ROM in, it starts reading then a couple of seconds then it freeze and the cdrom continue to read. Please help me !

could it be a physically broken cdrom drive?

Nope, works 100% under windows, and did worked well on redhat when I was able to boot it
