Question What complier should I download?


I've been getting errors lately trying to complie different programs and I was wondering if I should download and install an new compiler... anybody got any suggestions? (I'm running SuSE 9.0 Pro)

all normal users should stick with the latest available release of gcc.

gcc >=3.3 works great on my sys. i had troubles with the pre 3 series. lately i used the intel compiler on an pure intel platform and got good results, but i don't believe it's free.
i agree to acid_kewpie - have a look if there is an update on the suse servers.
