what are these files ???


i sometimes seen these files in linux. what are these ??
.rpmsave
.rpmorig
.rpmnew
.swp
,v

All of them are backup files. The *.rpm* files are created when config files are saved or upgraded after a package upgrade. The *.swp file is a backup created by vim. I am not so sure about *,v.
