What are the standby and hibernate commands?

I am currently using Kubuntu, and like many other distros, there is a syandby and hibernate feature. However, I don't like to use KDE or Gnome, so I don't have those menu options without logging our first.

I can issue the commands "restart" and "halt" from the command line to reboot and shut down, respectively. What are the commands for standby and hibernate?
