Weird things on Mandrake 9.2

Weird things on Mandrake 9.2

Hi all
Still trying to recover things for kernel header with DMR's moderator help.
Few more problems:
1. My linux use to boot up/shutdown in graphical mode, with an option to press Esc for verbose mode. Now it is always booting/shutting in verbose mode.
2. The window manager is behaving funny. When I select an item it automatically opens it. So I can't select it. How can I make it to do, one click for selection and 2 for opening/execution.
Thanks
SS

Well, for the problem with the mouse I'm sure there was an option for single click option so that it highlights when you move the cursor over the item but for the life of my I couldn't find it to tell you where it was.

As with the loading screen, I had that problem too. I found sometimes when I pressed escape the verbose mode would come up every time I turned on the computer. I'm not running mandrake 9.2 anymore but I believe either it fixed its self eventually or I just pushed escape to turn it back and it eventually did the same thing but starting with a non-verbose mode.

This information may not be too helpful to you, but I thought I would say something since no one else has.

Mouse - go to Configuration - KDE - Peripherals - Mouse and choose double-click instead of single.

I'm stuck in verbose mode - it doesn't seem to want to go back. Doesn't bother me, but you feel it ought to work.

Why does that even matter? I find it more entertaining to see what it's booting then a scrolling progress bar.

Me too, but it matters because it should work. Many people don't want to see that stuff and they shouldn't be stuck with it just because they hit Escape once. A minor bug, but still a bug.

This doesn't fix it. I have mandrake 9.2 and the same problem. Actually, it does fix it, but not when you view folders in "Tree" layout which is what most people do.
