Weird:there is no Makefile for php5 installation

I downloaded php-5.0.5.tar.gz from the website that php.net recommaned to.After tar and ./configure,I found that there is no Makefile file in it(with Makefile.frag,Makefile.global etc).I couldn't install php-5.

Did you try running make anyways. that seems pretty strange.. If the Makefile.in files exist you can run automake to generate them.

The following is message I got after issue "automake":
