Question Weird sasl

I am trying to configure cyrus-sasl-2.1.21 at least that is the version number it gives when I untar the package. when i go to configure and make / make install the package name becomes sasl-2.0.21 in /usr/local/lib.

so when i am running make test for openldap it gives version mismatch and sasl fails to start. now it says got 2.1.19 and expected 2.1.21

when i looked around i realized that sasl is already installed with the centos linux. nevertheless, i went ahead and configured a new one. i tried to set the libs to sasl2 and set my env ldflags to /usr/local/lib/sasl2 but again its not the rite verison.

I am very much confused. Anyone got a clue as to what is going on? I have been on this for a while and i can't figure out the mismatching.

let me know if any addition information is needed
