content management software preferences?

So here's the deal; I'm getting ready to rebuild what will initially be a low-traffic website for friends and family, but hopefully will expand in time. In the past I've used a few different content management systems such as Mambo, php-nuke, etc. but I was just wondering what the general concensus is as far as which is first, most secure, and secondly most user friendly and feature rich.

I really seem to like Mambo, with the integrated phpBB and Gallery software, I'm just wondering before I begin if there's something out there I'm unaware of that would suit my purpose in a better way?

So... if a few people would post their thoughts/preferences on their content management system of choice, and their reasons why, I'd appreciate your time very much.

Another question came to mind, is there any CMS portal that integrates the login process between the main CMS and say a forum module, etc. with only a single point of login? Example: The last time I setup Mambo I followed the docs to use the phpBB module login form for both the forum and the site, however the cookie eventually times out for the forum while leaving the user logged in to Mambo - which confuses some of my users of advanced age.

Opinions wanted...
