webcam works fine in Cheese. skype sees the webcam, but cannot play it. test does nothing. start my video opens a little empty box and never streams.
Some boring details to check (sorry about that).
1. Open Skype and click on Options. Go into the "Video Devices". Is the "Enable Skype Video" checkbox checked? If not, that's your problem. Check it.
2. What does it say in the "Select Webcam" drop down list?
ciao,
jdk
1. yes, it is checked. Mod edit: Removed sarcasm.
2. the select webcam shows the webcam, which is what I meant by saying 'skype sees the webcam'
Mod edit: Removed insulting language.
