For a short while I did get the module working, then I did the terrible act of rebooting and so long working webcam.

I'm trying to get this:

working but after I rebooted my /dev/video0 disappeared and it won't work. I did install it but now after the reboot I can't get it to install again:

[root@localhost ov51x-jpeg-0.5]# insmod ./ov51x.ko
insmod: error inserting './ov51x.ko': -1 Unknown symbol in module
[root@localhost ov51x-jpeg-0.5]# insmod ./ov519_decomp.ko
insmod: error inserting './ov519_decomp.ko': -1 Unknown symbol in module

and my /dev/video0 dissapeared meaning all v4l programs stopped working


Please Help, how can I get my web cam working again. it's serial thing is:05a9:8519





Please help! I'm desperate!

install the newest driver.. sometimes you have to hunt for it because people develope ones that are better than the maintainers/manufactorers do.

repositories may not have the best ones either.
