this is my first post on this forum... so, happy to be with ya guys...
now, let's get down into businnes, shall we?
I am developing an app featuring an OpenSource program named effecTV (very nice indeed, u may find it under sourceforge).
Basically it gets the input of a webcam and applies some nice effects to the stream, realtime (such as the "predator" invisibility effect... too cool).
After some battles i made my toucam work correctly, but now i'd like to make another feature: i want all the stuff run into an enclosed LAN, maybe the cam is on a pc in one room and the display is made on some other machines in some other rooms. Basically I want to xmit the stream via UDP multicast from a point to another.
First question (the easiest way): does anyone already knows effecTV and already made something alike?
second: how can i collect the udp stream and make it seem a "virtual webcam" output. I am afraid that effecTV collects just the streams coming from /dev/video0,1,2
3rd: I know that there is an app that may solve point 2 and it is called vloopback. Unfortunately it can't compile on my RedHat9 (kernel incompatibilities). Anyone knows another option? Ok i should change the kernel, but... let be seriuos, i won't do that just to make a webcam work
Ok i hope that anyone will gimme an hand: any help will be gratefully received.
bye the G.
