Web page ad blocking: Privoxy vs Ad-block. Thoughts?

I've been using Privoxy for many years -- at least five or six -- from back when it was still called Junkbuster. It can be a little tricky to configure, but it is very flexible and works well. However, I recently installed the Firefox extension Ad-block on a friend's machine and was suitably impressed, although it doesn't block cookies. As anyone compared the two? Any thoughts on which is the better?

Well I suppose it's what you want. I haven't used privoxy though. Privoxy is another service running but it does more than adblock. I found I haven't seen ads since I started using adblock. Also only allowing cookies from the original site seems pretty much what I want to do. Therefor I see no reason to use an extra service.
