Arrow Web Application on RedHat 7.3 with tomcat4.1 and db mysql

Hello forum,

I have a problem while developing a web application. I am using tomact 4.1 and db mysql Ver 12.21 Distrib 4.0.15, for pc-linux (i686). Also downloaded MySQL Connector/J 3.0.9-stable (formerly MM.MySQL) and configured according to respective manuals.

I am able to execute a simple jsp file on the server. But when I try to read db from the browser, I get the following error messages:

Thanks for your attention to my query.

As I am using jsp & servelet, ConnectorJ .jar file is placed in the folder jakarta-tomcat-4.1.27/webapps/ROOT/WEB-INF.

Thanks again.

One more information forgot to mention is that I first used

"Class.forName("com.mysql.jdbc.Driver").newInstance();"

As the above also gives the same error, then I tried

"Class.forName("org.gjt.mm.mysql.Driver");".

The 1st line of the error changes according to the driver I use.
i.e. "org.apache.jasper.JasperException: org.gjt.mm.mysql.Driver"

Thank you.

Well if you're actually putting the jar in jakarta-tomcat-4.1.27/webapps/ROOT/WEB-INF that's your problem it should go in the lib directory under WEB-INF.
