wdm font size issue...

i'm not realy sure if that title makes any sense but it is the best way i can describe it. i wanted to use WDM so i didn't have to go into a console and type "startx &" everytime i wanted a GUI. For the most part I just use a computer for browsing and text editing but I still love the console for administration. For some reason whenever I try to log in with WDM it makes the defualt font size in Mozilla, GAIM and a few other apps too small too read! and i can't figure out why. any ideas? (BTW: Debian 3.0, and i use window maker for a GUI)
