wanting to run a mail server from slackware.. Tutorial needed.
would someone be willing to provide a full tutorial on how to set up a slackware box as a mail server. i have sendmail installed and running. i have POP3 running. I have a FQDN pointing to my IP address. I need help to make this linux box operate as a mail server for usage from other locations over the internet. this is not for internal network use. it is for an internet mail server. If i try to use the computer as it is to send email over the internet, i am greeted with relay errors. I would like to have some instruction on using the server by IP address, or by domain name. I want to use standard SMTP and POP3 from a mail client to access the server. I have added some IP addresses to the /etc/hosts.allow file, but i need some assistance on the correct configuration of the hosts.allow and hosts.deny files. The server has the necessary ports open.
