I just downlaoded a .repo file from the pidgin website, and iot says to move this folder to /etc/yum.repos.d/ but it wont let me paste the file into this folder.

I'm not sure if Pidgin is in their repositories, if it is you can install Pidgin (and other apps) that way. This site will show you how to activate the repositories. Installing apps on Acer One.
