I'm getting back into linux here, last time I was using linux consistently I installed beryl and kiba dock and had a lot of fun with it. I want to install it again, but about the time I dissapeared from the linux world Beryl merged with Compiz, so I dont know the exact situation anymore. What has changed? Second, I'm about to set up a second monitor no my computer this week, just waiting for an adapter in the mail, am I going to be able to configure compiz to use this to my advantage, and will it be hard to get it to work with multiple monitors? Also, should I wait until I get that second monitor on and configured normally before I install compiz?
Thanks,
MJ

Distribution: Mostly Debian or some (exceptionally popular?) derivative thereof.

In Ubuntu at least, gone are the days of problems with "Beryl." Beryl and Compiz merged to compiz-fusion. It's all a breeze now with the ccsm utility. So long as you setup your second monitor in Xorg you can simply "click a button" to get compiz-fusion to span or mirror on the two monitors depending on what you want.
