w32codecs and w64codecs installed, no WVC1 video?

Hi,
I just compiled Mplayer from source. Went fine. Still getting the same error when trying to view an MKV file with WVC1 video encoding. I installed both the w2codecs and w64codecs. No difference.

Here's the mplayer error. See the mediainfo on the file below. How can I get mplayer to understand this file? The audio complains but works.

Xine dies immediately and vlc plays at 2 frames per second.

mplayer does not use gstreamer, it uses ffmpeg. Try checking for a mplayer PPA or look in mediabuntu repo.

1.0~rc3+svn20100603-0.0 plays mkv just fine here running Debian sid with mplayer and ffmpeg from the debian-multimedia.org repo.
