Hi all,

Yet Another Vsftpd Question. here's the current situation:


==FTP==
- real user: success
- virtual: success
==SFTP==
- real user: success
- virtual: failure


when trying to log in with a virtual user account through an sftp connection I get prompted for the password and then it is rejected.

so, my question is: what could be a reason for the failure? I tried messing around in vsftpd.conf so much that it is now a total mess, I could paste it here but I don't know if it will be of any help since I tried almost everything there...

I am using:

• Mandriva Linux 2006.0 official, 'high' security installation
• vsftpd 2.0.3
• xinetd (same situation in stand-alone mode btw)

any help will naturally be greatly appreciated!

I think only real user with a valid login shell can use sftp.

Sftp is a part of openssh server
