vsftpd in ftp clients - a no go ??

I'm a little new to vsftpd - I got everything up - I can ftp in command prompt with windows or linux terminal - but as soon as I try w/ a browser or an ftp client (like smart ftp) - I can't get in. Just for reference, in smart ftp I get: "An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine"

is there anyone that can help me out there? Thanks.

hello,

the problem is most likely the mode you are using to connect to your ftp server.
Most browsers (and some ftp clients) use NON passive mode on default.
Try setting the the connection to passive mode only. (most ftp-clients can do this)
