I have installed vsftpd ver. 1.1.3 server on my system and I am continually receiving errors. I can log on, but I am receiving these errors:
Using ftp in the terminal:

Using KBear:

In the host.allow I have placed this: vsftpd : ALL I have also used vsftpd : ALL : ALLOW, but nothing seems to make a difference. Also, I have implimented port 20, but I cannot seem to connect. ?
I am getting the same results when connecting with a local user account.
Here is my vsftpd.conf:
anonymous_enable=YES
local_enable=YES
dirmessage_enable=YES
xferlog_enable=YES
xferlog_file=/var/log/vsftpd.log
ftpd_banner=Welcome to blahs's FTP service.
chroot_list_enable=YES
chroot_list_file=/etc/vsftpd.chroot_list
pam_service_name=vsftpd
Hopefully someone will have the answer to this problem ...
My brain is cooked...
