I'm setting up a webserver / ftp server for local access within a home lan. I've got the webserver
done, but I'm having problems with VSFTPD. Mainly, I'm trying to find out how to share specific
directories via FTP. I understand that each user gets space in VSFTP's directory (or, if I'm wrong
on this maybe I don't understand it)...but how can I say 'make a new user or grant an existing user
access to /var/www/'?

If VSFTPD isn't the right choice for this, any suggestions?

When you add the user to your system,point their "home" directory to the /var/www/user directory,when they login via FTP they will go directly to this directory and us eit for ftp
