vsftpd carriage return issue

Hello, wondering if there are any vsftpd experts out there. I am having an issue with my ftp site where the carriage return in txt files is not being translated properly when using Windows explorer to copy a file down. I have ascii mode enabled in my vsftpd.conf file but for some reason it still is not working. It does work using FileZilla client on my Windows machine, but just not in explorer. Copy the file from explorer and I only get LF not CRLF. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

What does running 'file' on the original file show?
